Symposium: Nationale Sozialpartnervereinbarungen zur Arbeitsverfassung

Since 2015 the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History and the Hugo Sinzheimer Institute have been collaborating on a joint initiative ‘History of Labour Law.’ The first symposium of this initiative deals with four historical cases of self-regulation in the field of “Industrial Relations” thus contributing to an overlapping theme that has already been dealt with at the MPI within the scope of its research field “Modern regulatory regimes.” Achim Seifert will give a talk on an important event on the threshold of the ‘German economic miracle’; Thorsten Keiser and Kjell Å Modéer will talk about policies for community building in a controversial historical context. Gerd Bender will deal with a very ambitious arrangement stressing the inclusion of labour market organizations into the political juridical system at the prelude to the Weimar Republic.
