IT Management
The IT department operates and develops the Institute’s IT infrastructure, used by research staff, guests and the service departments.
Its tasks include software management, providing and maintaining individual workstations, telephone and video conferencing systems, presentation technology, wireless networks as well as printing, scanning and copying equipment. Background services required for the IT infrastructure’s operation are increasingly also provided out of house. To this end, the IT department works with partners both within the Max Planck Society (Administrative Headquarters, GWDG) and outside it (DFN – German National Research and Education Network, commercial providers).
