Curriculum Vitae
Polina Solonets is a researcher and data steward at the Institute. She works at the intersection of legal history, digital humanities and research data management, supporting research projects in the development of digital methods, data workflows and scholarly digital editions.
As a data steward, she advises researchers on research data management, including data management planning, documentation, metadata, preservation and data publication, with a focus on sustainable and FAIR research practices (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable).
Her digital humanities work focuses on the digitisation and modelling of historical sources, the preparation of scholarly digital editions, and the development of sustainable and reproducible workflows for working with complex textual data. She is particularly interested in how digital methods and research data practices can be integrated into humanities research workflows, from the acquisition and transformation of sources to their annotation, publication, preservation and reuse.
She studied linguistics and lexicography at the University of Minho and Roma Tre University and gained professional experience in digital humanities and corpus linguistics at the Leibniz Institute for the German Language and the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage.
