The School of Salamanca: New Digital Edition of Tomás de Mercado`s Tratos y Contratos now online
The latest publication in the Digital Collection of Sources edited by the Salamanca project was one of the bestselling books in the Spanish Americas: Tomás de Mercado’s Tratos y Contratos, written at the request of the merchants of Seville to provide reliable guidance regarding ethical questions posed by the new overseas trade. The full text of the first edition (printed in Salamanca in 1569) is now available online and in open access on the project’s website.
