Joint Workshop on Transnational Commercial Contract Law

On 25 October 2017, the Institute hosted the first workshop of the joint panel of experts preparing a Legal Guide to International Commercial Contracts, with a Focus on Sales. Once finalized, this explanatory text will set out the relationship of various international uniform private law texts, such as the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts (PICC). It is meant to be jointly published by the three leading ‘formulating agencies’ in the field, the Hague Conference on Private International Law, the International Institute for the Unfication of Private Law (UNIDROIT) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
