Development of an Interoperable Taxonomy: the Global Collaboratory on the History of Labour Relations, 1500-2000

In this session organised as part of the permanent seminar ‘Legal History meets Digital Humanities’, we will be talking with Prof. Dr. Karin Hofmeester, who is a research director at the International Institute of Social History (IISH) in Amsterdam and a part-time professor of Jewish Culture at Antwerp University.

She will introduce her project “Global Collaboratory on the History of Labour Relations”, developed since 2007 at the IISH to better understand the diverse forms of labour relations worldwide. In her talk, Hofmeester will discuss how they defined ‘work’ and ‘labour relations’ and how they created the Taxonomy of Labour Relations.

The event is organised in a hybrid mode. Please register here.
