This bibliography is part of the video series “Court Cases and the Writing of African History", produced in the course of the project "Global Legal History on the Ground" at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory, with support from the American Society for Legal History. The production of the videos and the publication of this bibliography aim to draw the attention of researchers to the potential of court cases in the writing of Africa´s history, as well as to provide basic knowledge to those who wish to work with this type of documents.
