mpilhlt part of new Frankfurt Alliance science network

January 31, 2024

The mpilhlt is a member of the Frankfurt Alliance, a new science network that brings together 16 renowned institutions from the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region. The alliance aims to intensify cooperation and create synergies between research institutions. "Cutting-edge research takes place in global networks and we need to attract the best minds in the world to Frankfurt. With the Frankfurt Alliance, we are creating a strong forum that will strengthen scientific networking within the region and develop Frankfurt into a global science hub", emphasised Marietta Auer, Managing Director of mpilhlt at the founding ceremony in Frankfurt's Römer.

With the aim of strengthening Frankfurt/Rhine-Main internationally as a centre of research, the Frankfurt Alliance sets the framework for joint research, the removal of administrative barriers and the creation of joint structures. The first public event, a science festival on 28 September 2024 in Frankfurt city centre, in which our institute will also participate, will present the diverse research areas of the participating institutions.

The Frankfurt/Rhine-Main science region is already characterised by a high density of research institutions that are linked to each other on the basis of shared research interests and numerous cooperation agreements.
