Marietta Auer elected Vice President of the DFG

Marietta Auer was elected Vice President of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at this year’s Annual Meeting and will thus become a member of the Executive Committee of the largest research funding organisation and central self-governing body for science and research in Germany.

As the managing body, the DFG Executive Committee continuously advises on all matters of fundamental importance to the self-governing organisation of science and research in Germany.

Together with DFG President, Prof. Dr. Katja Becker, and the new Vice President, Marietta Auer, the DFG Executive Committee includes molecular biologist Prof. Dr. Axel A. Brakhage, English literary scholar Prof. Dr. Julika Griem, engineering scientist Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Hasse, experimental physicist Prof. Dr. Karin Jacobs, sociologist Prof. Dr. Matthias Koenig, chemist Prof. Dr. Peter H. Seeberger, computer scientist Prof. Dr. Kerstin Schill and physician Prof. Dr. Britta Siegmund as vice presidents. Both the President of the Stifterverband (Donors’ association) and the DFG Secretary General participate in the meetings of the Executive Committee in an advisory capacity.
