Scholarship for senior researchers
Our scholarships for senior researchers are intended to provide you as an established scholar with the opportunity to pursue your research as a visitor at the Institute and to discuss your findings with members of our international scholarly community and other scholarship holders. The scholarships are intended for experienced researchers who were awarded their PhD more than 10 years ago and who are acknowledged experts in their field.

Your applications needs to be in English and can be be submitted any time via our online application platform but a minimum of four months in advance of the planned research stay.
The application needs to consist of the following documents:
- Research proposal (up to 10,000 characters), which shows how the project closely relates to one of the currend Research Fields of the Departments
- List of publications
- Three thematically relevant publications of the last five years (as PDFs)
- The name and (postal and email) address of a scholar whom we may contact to request a letter of reference

The Institute’s scholarship committee decides on such applications at one of its quarterly sessions (January/April/July/October).
