James Thompson joined the mpilhlt (formerly MPIeR) as Research Editor in 2015 and as Research Coordinator for the Leibniz Prize Project Theoriemosaike (Theory Mosaics) in the Department Marietta Auer in 2024. From 2011-15, he was visiting professor at the KU Leuven helping establish a new focus on Wittgenstein, normativity and ethics. Furthermore, he has taught and researched at the University of Halle-Wittenberg, University of Zürich, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and the Goethe University Frankfurt.
