This workshop brings together scholars working on the history of sociology of law, socio-legal studies, and related forms of empirical inquiry into law from a transregional perspective. It aims to explore how socio-legal knowledge has emerged, circulated, and been transformed across different intellectual, institutional, and regional contexts.
By moving beyond nationally bounded accounts, the workshop seeks to encourage reflection on broader historical entanglements, cross-regional exchanges, and diverse traditions of socio-legal thought. Particular attention will be given to the development of such approaches in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
The event is conceived as a focused academic workshop with invited participants. A limited number of places will soon be available for on-site attendance upon registration.
