Archival Heritage and Cultural Rights in Mozambique (1948-1975)

Access to the "documentary corpus" of Mozambique's judicial archives poses a challenge to contemporary Mozambican society. This access can reveal the dynamics of everyday struggles for cultural affirmation in this territory, not only in terms of the contribution of African peoples to the construction of law from a conventional perspective but also in the sense of building cultural rights, as included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The research proposal aims to reflect on the analysis of the archival heritage of the judiciary, pointing out the contribution of the cultural diversity of this colonial territory to global cultural law.

Portuguese: O acesso ao "corpus documental" do arquivo judiciário de Moçambique representa um desafio para a sociedade moçambicana contemporânea. Tal acesso pode revelar as dinâmicas das lutas diárias de afirmação cultural neste território, não apenas em termos da contribuição dos povos africanos na construção do direito de acordo com a perspectiva mais convencional, mas também no que diz respeito à construção do direito cultural, conforme estabelecido na Carta Universal dos Direitos Humanos. A proposta de pesquisa busca refletir a partir da análise do patrimônio arquivístico do judiciário, ressaltando a contribuição da diversidade cultural deste território colonial para o direito cultural global.
