Non-state Law of the Economy. The Normative Order of Industrial Relations in the Metal Industry from the Empire to the Early Years of the Federal Republic of Germany

Labor law is not limited to state legislation. To a large extent, the participants in the world of work regulate their affairs through their own norms. While the existence of such norms has long been acknowledged in traditional legal history, it has not yet been systematically explored.

The project Non-State Economic Law is dedicated to examining this body of norms. The final conference addresses the phenomenon of non-state labor law, its documentation, and related questions from both global and national perspectives. Contributions will be made by scholars from various historical disciplines as well as practitioners from the judiciary and interest groups.
