Reading recommendation of the NJW: Haferkamp's Historische Rechtsschule

Once again one of the Institute’s publications has been named one of the »Juridical books of the year« by the »Neue Juristische Wochenschrift«. According to the journal’s jury of experts, Peter Haferkamp’s book »Die Historische Rechtsschule« (»The German Historical School«) succeeds in illustrating through a series of nuanced and detailed case studies what this group of scholars really sought to achieve, what problems and questions it debated, in short: how and what its members thought. The reader, so the journal’s book recommendation, is rewarded with an entirely new and convincing understanding of this academic school and is permitted to listen in on its fascinating scholarly conversations.

Haferkamp’s publication was one of five monographs selected by a jury in the »Neue Juristische Wochenschrift« (NJW, issue 41/2018, pp. 2999-3003.) as highly recommended reading. It appeared in early 2018 as volume 310 of the Institute’s book series »Studien zur europäischen Rechtsgeschichte«. Last year the series' volume 300, Daniel Damler‘s »Konzern und Moderne«, was amongst the NJW’s recommendations.
